Last week, I was hanging out with my friends at a mountain bike shop on January 30. It was a Friday, and since the shop also rents bikes, we were just talking casually when I spotted an e-mountain bike and jokingly said, “Boys, let’s go e-biking tomorrow.”
Unexpectedly, everyone agreed.
Since it was our friend’s place, we picked our bikes, put them on charge, and planned to meet early the next morning. As decided, we met up and headed straight toward the Nagarjun trails for our first E-MTB ride.
At first, riding the e-bike felt a bit strange because it’s heavier than a normal mountain bike. But the moment we hit the climb, everything changed. The pedal assistance made uphill riding feel effortless. We were climbing smoothly without breaking a sweat, something that normally takes serious effort on regular bikes. Instead of fighting the climb, we were enjoying the ride and talking all the way up.
The real surprise came when we entered the trail. Because the bikes were heavier, handling tight turns and technical sections felt more challenging. We quickly realized these bikes weren’t as easy to maneuver on narrow trails compared to our usual mountain bikes. Still, despite the struggle, the ride turned into pure fun. It was different, exciting, and gave us a completely new riding experience.
After finishing the trails, we rode back to the shop, washed the bikes, and parked them back where they belonged — tired, muddy, and smiling.
That day made me realize something important: e-mountain bikes open mountain biking to more people. Climbs become enjoyable, distances feel shorter, and riders can explore more terrain without exhaustion. And when you’re riding in Nepal — surrounded by forests, hills, villages, and mountain views — every ride becomes an adventure.
If you’ve never tried mountain biking before, an e-mountain bike might be the perfect way to start. And if you really want to experience unforgettable trails, Nepal should definitely be on your riding list.
Sometimes, the best adventures begin as a simple joke with friends.
A casual joke with friends turned into an unforgettable first e-mountain bike adventure on Nepal’s Nagarjun trails — proving that sometimes the best rides begin unplanned. Discover how e-MTBs make climbing easier, trails more accessible, and riding even more fun.
